Clyde Cook was a rubber-limbed Australian comedian, who began his career as a dancer. Stagework and Broadway followed. Cook came to the screen in 1920 with a series of unsuccessful comedies for Fox. Five years later at the Hal Roach Studios, Stan Laurel would write and direct the funnier Clyde Cook comedies.
